This module has helped me think about self-directed learners and the role of differentiation in the following ways
Many students are use to taking yes or no answered tests and completing worksheets and traditional assignments. This module helped me think outside the box and helped me realize even more that students learn best when they are able to give their own thoughts and opinions and are able to use open-ended questions and answers when doing assignments. The classroom should be more than just traditional tests and quizzes. Students can be gradually trained to take over their own assignments until they are able to complete them completely independently. Just like in the real world, students will have to be able to stay on task themselves and will not have anyone looking over their shoulder to keep them on task so what better place to start teaching this than in the classroom?
